What is Rheology?

Rheology is the science that studies how materials       deform and flow under the influence of external forces.       The name Rheology, from the Greek word rheo (= flow),   was suggested in 1920 by M. Reiner, professor at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, and                      E.C. Bingham, professor at Lafayette College,     Pennsylvania, USA. This term was inspired by the      aphorism of Simplicus (often attributed to Heraclitus):      panta rhei - παντα rεi = everything flows.
